At Takashiya, every seat is an invitation to trust the chef and embark on a journey through Japan’s finest culinary traditions.
WHAT IS OMAKASE?
“Omakase” (お任せ) means “I leave it up to you.” It’s a dining experience built on trust — where Takashiya’s chefs curate a multi-course meal based on the freshest ingredients, the rhythm of the seasons, and years of refined technique. No menus, no decisions — just an unfolding story of flavor, told one course at a time.
THE EXPERIENCE
Takashiya’s intimate setting allows for personal interaction with the chefs, creating a connection between guest and culinary artists. Whether you’re joining us for a special occasion or seeking a moment of quiet indulgence, our goal is to create an unforgettable dining experience rooted in hospitality and craftsmanship.
We only source only the highest-grade ingredients, often flown in from Japan, and pair them with local Australian, seasonal produce. Out menu changes daily, ensuring every visit brings something new, yet familiar - a perfect balance of tradition and surprise.
It's an art form that emphasises seasonality, balance, aesthetics, and hospitality.
